Build quality and performance capability equal to, if not better than, some of the more expensive brands out there. If you're looking for a workhorse and not a showpiece, this is perfect! I was hesitant to purchase initially as I am a bit of a "brand-specific" customer. I would have saved a lot of money in the past if I had looked at this range sooner. My advice, for what it's worth. Buy this reel and spend the extra savings on a better rod.
